The parable of the King’s banquet in Matthew 22:1-14 is a very difficult parable to understand. So, here’s what I want to do.

FirstI’m going to give you some context for where it falls in the bigger story of Matthew’s Gospel.

SecondI’m going to make sure we have the pieces of the parable clear.

Third, I’m going to give you two possible ways to interpret the parable and see which one makes the most sense.

Option A

Option B

Finally, I offer some final thoughts and a “so what?”

Join me every Monday at 4:00pm Central Time for a live Bible study on Zoom.

  • live discussion around the texts,
  • previews and behind-the-scenes peeks at what is happening at A Cartoonist’s Guide to the Bible

The video of the session remains available on the network to view at any time, in case you can’t make it for the live session.
