Acts Part 5: Paul’s First Journey
In this fifth video in A Cartoonist’s Guide to Acts we walk through Acts 13-15. The Apostles Paul and Barnabas take a journey into Gentile territory and proclaim the good news of Jesus to Jewish and non-Jewish people. The crowd is divided. Some follow the message, others try to kill them. In Lystra the people think they are the Greek gods Zeus and Hermes. This section ends with a big meeting of the Apostles and Elders in Jerusalem (The Jerusalem Council) to decide if it is necessary for Gentiles to convert to Jewish culture and practices in order to be considered legitimate disciples of Jesus. This is a defining moment in the history of the church.
