Jesus was an enigma. He was a Jewish rabbi, but he broke the cultural rules. John the Baptist was confused and wondered if he was really the Messiah. The religious leaders were becoming increasingly angry with him. Jesus used parables to proclaim his message, which left his disciples scratching their heads. They either walked away in confusion, or leaned in further to gain insight.
